Ton of Fun Playcare, a daycare home in
Calgary's North East community.
Day home for preschoolers ready for lots of fun. This little community is ran by a very nice lady by the name of Elaine. She fed the E.R.A. during the computer install process with the same food all the kids were eating. It was delicious. After the meal the computers were installed and the kids could not wait. They were all anxiously waiting for the computers to turn on, so they can start playing. Ten kids were gathered around two computers as they started to turn on. The bigger children were the first to get their turn playing. They were all advised computers are mostly meant for learning on, but they continued to play. This kept most of them busy for a while. Donated computers for this worthy cause came from companies participating in programs offered by E.R.A. Such companies include: Calgary Herald, University Technologies, DateSafe Recovery Services, Alberta Research Council, PHH, The Brick, Imperial Oil Ltd., Town of Okotokes and High River, and many others. The most important thing is that computer equipment otherwise destined to the landfill or to fee charging recycler was reused for a very good cause. Such donation programs are being offered to various kid related organizations in the province. They are our future, and this ensures even the ones no so fortunate can have computers.
