Electronic Recycling Association Donates Technology to Yellowhouse Art Centre Society in Galiano Island, BC

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support creativity, community engagement, and digital accessibility through the donation of 2 laptops and 2 monitors to Yellowhouse Art Centre Society (YHACS) on Galiano Island, British Columbia.

This donation reflects ERA’s ongoing commitment to bridging the digital divide, extending the life of technology, and empowering nonprofit organizations across Canada.

Supporting Creativity and Community Connections

Yellowhouse Art Centre Society is a community-focused organization dedicated to fostering artistic expression, cultural connections, and creative collaboration. Serving the rural and remote community of Galiano Island, YHACS provides accessible spaces, materials, and opportunities for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to explore their creativity.

Through year-round workshops, skill-building programs, exhibitions, performances, and artist residencies, the organization supports artists and cultural workers at every stage of their creative journeys.

YHACS also emphasizes environmental awareness, equity, inclusion, decolonization, and climate justice, creating opportunities for meaningful community engagement through the arts.

Empowering Arts and Education Through Technology

Access to reliable technology is essential for nonprofit organizations delivering educational and creative programs, particularly in rural communities.

The 2 laptops and 2 monitors donated by ERA will help Yellowhouse Art Centre Society support its programming, strengthen digital capabilities, and provide additional resources for creative and interdisciplinary activities.

By equipping community organizations with refurbished technology, ERA helps reduce financial barriers while supporting education, artistic development, and digital inclusion.

Giving Technology a Second Life

At the Electronic Recycling Association, we believe retired electronics can continue making a positive impact.

Through our electronics reuse and donation programs, ERA collects unwanted technology from businesses and individuals, refurbishes reusable equipment, and redistributes it to charities, schools, and nonprofit organizations in need.

This donation to Yellowhouse Art Centre Society demonstrates how technology reuse can support both environmental sustainability and community development.

Organizations with unwanted laptops, computers, monitors, or other electronics can help make a difference by donating their equipment to ERA.
