The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to partner with 4H Helping Hands for a community electronics fundraising event taking place on January 16 in Crossfield, Alberta. This local initiative brings together environmental responsibility, youth leadership, and community engagement through responsible e-waste recycling.
This one-day electronics collection event offers residents a convenient way to safely recycle unwanted electronics while directly supporting a youth-led fundraising effort. Every device collected helps divert electronic waste from landfills and supports ERA’s mission to protect the environment, safeguard data, and promote technology reuse.

Why This Fundraiser Is Especially Meaningful
This fundraiser is part of ERA’s Moolah For Macros program, which supports non-profit and community organizations through responsible e-waste collection.
By donating electronics, community members support a local youth-led initiative while contributing to environmental responsibility and technology reuse across Canada. Eligible items may generate financial rebates for 4H Helping Hands, and all electronics are processed according to ERA’s strict environmental and data security standards.
How Fundraising Through Electronics Recycling Works
ERA’s fundraising programs allow community groups to raise funds by collecting eligible electronics. Once minimum collection thresholds are met, qualifying devices may generate rebates that directly benefit the organizing group.
This model enables organizations to raise funds without selling products, engage the community, and reduce electronic waste locally.
Why E-Waste Recycling Matters
Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams worldwide. Recycling electronics responsibly helps reduce landfill waste, protect soil and water, conserve resources, and support the circular economy.
Community events like this play an important role in making responsible electronics recycling accessible at the local level.
