By electronic recycling association January 22, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was proud to partner with 4H Helping Hands for a community-wide electronics recycling fundraiser held in Crossfield, Alberta.

The event took place on January 16 and brought together local families, youth volunteers, and community members with a shared goal: responsibly recycling unwanted electronics while supporting youth-focused initiatives through ERA’s Moolah for Macros fundraiser program.

Strong Community Participation and Environmental Impact

Hosted at 900 Mountain Ave in Crossfield, the fundraiser welcomed residents throughout the day to drop off a wide range of unwanted electronics, including laptops, computers, tablets, phones, TVs, monitors, speakers, and other accepted equipment.

Thanks to strong community engagement and excellent on-site coordination, the event resulted in the successful collection of:

Total electronics collected: 6,014 lbs

All collected items were securely handled by ERA’s team and processed through certified reuse, refurbishment, and recycling streams, ensuring both environmental responsibility and data security.

How the Moolah for Macros Program Supports Communities

ERA’s Moolah for Macros program is designed to help charities, schools, and community organizations raise funds while promoting responsible electronics recycling.

Through this program:

  • Organizations host a dedicated e-waste collection event
  • ERA provides trucks, bins, logistics support, and marketing assistance
  • Collected electronics are evaluated in accordance with program guidelines
  • Eligible items contribute to fundraising outcomes while keeping e-waste out of landfills

This model allows communities to turn unwanted electronics into meaningful environmental and social impact.

Youth Leadership and Community Collaboration

The 4H Helping Hands fundraiser was powered by the dedication of youth volunteers and organizers who actively engaged the local community and helped coordinate donations throughout the day. Their efforts played a key role in making the event both efficient and welcoming for all participants.

ERA extends sincere thanks to the entire 4H Helping Hands team for their organization, communication, and commitment to sustainability.
