Scarborough Town Centre and ERA Celebrate Earth Day with an Electronics Recycling Event

On April 22, 2025, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly partnered with Scarborough Town Centre (STC) in Ontario to host an Electronics Recycling Collection Event in honour of Earth Day.

The event invited residents, shoppers, and local businesses to responsibly recycle their unwanted electronic devices, keeping valuable materials out of landfills and supporting digital inclusion across Canada. From laptops and desktops to phones and tablets, the collected items will now be securely data-wiped, refurbished, and donated to Canadian charities in need.

“We extend our sincere thanks to Scarborough Town Centre for their leadership in environmental sustainability,” said Bojan Paduh, Founder and President of the ERA. “This event helped raise awareness around responsible e-waste disposal while making a meaningful difference for nonprofit organizations nationwide.”

Thanks to the Scarborough community’s support, hundreds of pounds of electronics were diverted from landfills. These contributions will go on to support ERA’s mission of bridging the digital divide and reducing e-waste, with over 500 Canadian charities currently on the waitlist for donated technology.
