Tech for Good at Pride in the Park with WSEGL and ERA
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is thrilled to reflect on the overwhelming success of our recent community collaboration at Pride in the Park with Warriors and Survivors eSports Gaming Lounge (WSEGL Canada), held on July 12, 2025, in Lindsay, Ontario.
Hosted at Victoria Park and organized in conjunction with Kawartha Lakes Pride, this event exemplified the power of grassroots partnerships and community spirit. Attendees came not only to celebrate inclusivity but also to support environmental sustainability and digital equity through responsible electronic donations.
Thanks to the incredible support and outreach of the WSEGL team and the local community, our collection bin was filled to capacity with a wide range of electronics. From essential devices to mixed accessories, every donation contributes to reducing e-waste and helping bridge the digital divide across Canada.
Each item collected will be securely data-wiped, assessed for reuse, and either refurbished for donation or responsibly recycled according to ERA’s certified standards.
Every piece of donated tech represents an opportunity to bridge the digital divide and reduce e-waste from ending up in landfills. Events like these show how community-driven initiatives can directly empower people and protect the planet – one device at a time.
Warriors and Survivors eSports Gaming Lounge (WSEGL Canada) is a grassroots, trauma-informed organization dedicated to creating safe, inclusive spaces through digital engagement. By combining gaming, technology, and social connection, WSEGL empowers individuals and promotes wellness, advocacy, and equity – especially for underserved and marginalized communities.
