ERA Joins Community Partners to Help Protect Edmontonians During Fraud Prevention Month

By electronic recycling association February 4, 2026

As digital threats continue to evolve, fraud prevention has never been more important. The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to join law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, and community organizations across Alberta in supporting Fraud Prevention Month, a province-wide initiative focused on helping Edmontonians recognize, reject, and report fraud.

The official kickoff event will take place at Central Lions Seniors Centre (11113 113 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5G 0E9) on March 4, 2026, starting at 9:30 a.m. The event will bring together fraud prevention experts and community leaders to share practical guidance on protecting personal and business information in an increasingly digital world.

Why Fraud Prevention Matters
Fraud can have serious financial and emotional impacts on individuals and organizations. Scams, identity theft, and cybercrime continue to grow in sophistication, making education and prevention critical. Through collaborative efforts, Alberta’s Fraud Prevention Month partners aim to equip Edmontonians with the tools and knowledge needed to stay informed and vigilant.

ERA’s Role in Fraud Prevention
As a Canadian non-profit focused on secure electronic recycling and data destruction, ERA plays an important role in preventing identity theft and data breaches. Properly recycling electronics and securely destroying data helps ensure sensitive personal and corporate information does not fall into the wrong hands.
