ERA Provides Refurbished Technology to Centre for Newcomers

By electronic recycling association March 26, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support the Centre for Newcomers through a recent technology donation aimed at improving access to essential digital tools for newcomers to Canada. As part of this initiative, ERA donated 1 laptop, 1 monitor, and 1 projector to assist the organization in enhancing its programs and services.

Supporting Newcomers Through Technology Access

The Centre for Newcomers plays an important role in helping immigrants and refugees successfully settle into Canadian communities. Through language programs, employment support, settlement services, and community integration initiatives, the organization empowers individuals and families as they begin new chapters in their lives.

Access to reliable technology is essential for delivering these services effectively. The donated laptop and monitor will help staff and participants access online resources, complete training, and improve communication. The projector will support workshops, presentations, and group learning sessions, allowing the organization to better engage participants and deliver impactful programming.

By providing these devices, ERA helps strengthen the Centre for Newcomers’ ability to support individuals as they build skills, find employment, and connect with their communities.

Reuse Before Recycling

This donation reflects ERA’s commitment to reuse before recycling. Functional electronics are refurbished and redistributed to charities, schools, and non-profit organizations across Canada, extending the lifecycle of technology and reducing electronic waste.

Through responsible reuse, ERA not only diverts electronics from landfills but also helps organizations like the Centre for Newcomers access the tools they need to serve their communities more effectively.

Bridging the Digital Divide

Technology access continues to be a key factor in successful settlement and integration. Donations like this help bridge the digital divide by providing newcomers with opportunities to participate in digital learning, job searching, and community programs.

ERA is proud to support organizations that make a meaningful impact and help create inclusive, connected communities across Canada.
