Responsible Electronics Recycling in Winnipeg
Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in Canada. Many devices contain materials that can harm the environment if improperly disposed of. Through ERA’s reuse-first approach, functional electronics are refurbished and donated to charities, schools, and non-profits, while non-reusable items are responsibly recycled.
Residents attending these events will have the opportunity to safely drop off a wide range of electronics, including:
• Laptops and desktops
• Monitors and printers
• Networking equipment
• Phones and tablets
• Cables, keyboards, and accessories
• Small office electronics
Large appliances such as refrigerators or air conditioners are typically not accepted.
Secure Data Destruction
Data security remains a top concern for individuals and businesses. ERA ensures that all collected devices are processed using secure data wiping methods that meet industry standards. Physical destruction of hard drives may also be available depending on event logistics. After processing, ERA can provide documentation such as Certificates of Destruction and recycling reports.
Supporting Earth Week Sustainability Goals
Hosting multiple events across Winnipeg helps increase accessibility and community participation. By partnering with Morguard shopping centres, ERA aims to make electronics recycling easy and convenient while promoting environmental leadership during Earth Week.
These events also support ERA’s broader mission to reduce electronic waste, extend the life cycle of technology, and provide refurbished equipment to organizations in need.
Why Participate?
By attending an ERA electronics recycling event, participants can:
• Protect personal and business data
• Reduce landfill waste
• Support technology donations to charities
• Contribute to environmental sustainability
• Declutter responsibly
