Port Coquitlam Electronics Recycling Event: 502 lbs Collected

By electronic recycling association October 13, 2026

The Port Coquitlam electronics recycling event, organized by the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) in partnership with the Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC), successfully collected 502 lbs of unwanted electronics on October 9, 2026.

Held at EJTC’s campus in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, the event supported responsible e-waste recycling, technology reuse, and EJTC’s Green Campus sustainability initiatives.

Port Coquitlam Electronics Recycling Event: 502 lbs Collected

Through the combined efforts of ERA, EJTC, and participating community members, 502 lbs of electronics were collected for responsible processing.

The event welcomed a variety of unwanted electronic equipment, including computers, laptops, monitors, printers, cell phones, tablets, cables, and other IT-related devices.

By collecting these materials, ERA and EJTC helped promote responsible electronics disposal and encouraged the community to take an active role in reducing electronic waste.

The successful collection demonstrates how local partnerships can make a meaningful difference in environmental sustainability.

Giving Electronics a Second Life Through Reuse and Donation

At ERA, electronics recycling goes beyond simply collecting unwanted equipment.

All electronics collected during the EJTC event will be assessed and processed through ERA’s established refurbishment and recycling programs.

Whenever possible, reusable devices will be securely wiped, tested, refurbished, and prepared for donation to charities, schools, nonprofit organizations, and community groups in need of technology.

Equipment that cannot be reused will be responsibly recycled to recover valuable materials and reduce unnecessary electronic waste.

This approach supports ERA’s mission to extend the life of electronic devices while making technology more accessible to communities across Canada.

Every device that can be refurbished represents an opportunity to support someone who needs access to technology.

Supporting EJTC’s Green Campus Sustainability Initiatives

ERA is pleased to support EJTC’s commitment to environmental responsibility through its Green Campus initiative.

By hosting an electronics recycling event at its Port Coquitlam campus, EJTC helped raise awareness about responsible e-waste management and encouraged sustainable practices among students, staff, and the surrounding community.

The partnership between ERA and EJTC highlights the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and environmental organizations.

Together, we are helping reduce electronic waste, support the circular economy, and promote the responsible reuse of technology.

ERA looks forward to future opportunities to collaborate with EJTC on sustainability and community initiatives.

Thank You to EJTC and the Port Coquitlam Community!

The Electronic Recycling Association would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) for its partnership and support in making this event a success.

We also thank all the students, staff, businesses, and community members who participated and contributed their unwanted electronics.

Thanks to your support, 502 lbs of electronics were collected and will be directed toward responsible recycling and potential refurbishment and donation.

Your participation helps ERA continue its mission of reducing e-waste, protecting the environment, and giving reusable technology a second life.
