The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is thrilled to announce the tremendous success of our Annual Electronic Recycling and Data Security Event, hosted in partnership with the Abbotsford Police Department at Highstreet Shopping Centre.

Thanks to the outstanding support of the local community, we diverted an impressive 1,045.5 pounds of electronics from the landfill — ensuring these devices can be securely processed, refurbished, and donated whenever possible.
This year’s event highlighted the power of collaboration between dedicated community partners and residents who care about protecting the environment, safeguarding personal data, and strengthening public safety.
Keeping E-Waste Out of Landfills
Environmental sustainability is at the core of ERA’s mission. By diverting 1,045.5 lbs of electronics, this event contributes to:
- Reduced landfill waste
- Lower carbon emissions
- A stronger, more sustainable circular economy
Every device dropped off has the potential to be refurbished and donated, supporting one of the 400+ charities currently on ERA’s waitlist for technology. Your old electronics directly help empower local nonprofits, schools, shelters, and community programs across Canada.
Thank You, Abbotsford!
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Abbotsford Police Department, Highstreet Shopping Centre, and every resident who participated. Your commitment creates real change — for the planet, for vulnerable communities, and for a safer digital environment.
If you missed this event, don’t worry — ERA hosts electronic recycling and data security events year-round across Canada. You can also schedule a free pickup (for qualifying loads) or drop off your devices at any ERA depot.
