ERA and Abbotsford Police Team Up for Free Electronic Recycling Event at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly partnered with the Abbotsford Police Department to host a Free Data Destruction and Electronic Recycling Event at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre. Thanks to the incredible support from the community, we successfully diverted 1,536 pounds of unwanted electronics from local landfills, promoting environmental responsibility and supporting access to technology for those in need.

At ERA, our mission extends beyond recycling. We specialize in secure data destruction and the refurbishment of electronic devices, ensuring that reusable technology can be donated to charities, non-profits, and community organizations across Canada. Every device collected at the event will be securely data wiped, professionally refurbished, and given a second life—helping bridge the digital divide for individuals and communities nationwide.

Currently, ERA has over 500 charities on our waitlist urgently seeking laptops, computers, tablets, and phones. With the growing demand for technology, community-driven events like this one are critical in helping us fulfill our commitment to sustainability and social impact.
