ERA Donates High-End Laptop to Leadertree.org in Toronto

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Leadertree.org in Toronto, Ontario, with the donation of a high-end refurbished laptop. This contribution highlights ERA’s ongoing mission to reduce electronic waste and enhance digital inclusion by providing reliable technology to individuals and nonprofit organizations across Canada.

Empowering Leadership Through Technology

Leadertree.org has spent over a decade equipping leaders in the nonprofit sector through training, coaching, and capacity-building support. Many of those they assist are passionate about helping others—even while facing their own personal challenges.

One such individual is a single mother, recent immigrant, and caregiver to a child with special needs. With a background in computer technology, she was recently offered a remote job in the tech sector. However, she lacked a critical resource—a laptop. Thanks to ERA’s laptop donation program, Leadertree.org was able to provide her with a high-performance device, helping her secure meaningful employment and launch a new chapter in her professional journey.

“The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a unique and useful organization. They tackle two issues together: e-waste, and the digital divide,” said Desmond McKenzie, Director of Leadertree.org. “ERA approved a laptop to go to this woman, thus turning frustration into a future of greater possibilities.”

Promoting Sustainable Technology Solutions

At ERA, every donation helps advance our dual purpose: supporting environmental sustainability and providing digital access to those in need. By extending the life of electronics through refurbishment and reuse, we divert devices from landfills while empowering individuals and organizations with the tools they need to succeed.
