THREE LAPTOPS FOR LEARNING, EXPLORING AND STAYING CONNECTED

Back in November, we donated 3 laptops to Britannia Lodge. They are a ‘special needs’ assisted living mental health care facility, offering the highest levels of care and support in a nurturing and comfortable home-like environment on a full-time basis. The primary focus of staff and management is to ensure the happiness and promote both the physical and mental health of residents. Their staff works closely with residents, family members, medical professionals, and Vancouver Coastal Health officials to constantly improve upon their exceptional standards and better the quality of life of their residents.

While speaking with Vicki Robinson from the Activity Department she expressed, “We are extremely grateful for the donation of 3 laptops from ERA to our residents. They have been learning to compute on borrowed tablets with the Vancouver Library community librarian, in the facility. Having laptops to freely use, residents are able to make and maintain family contacts over Skype, find the street they grew up on, send emails, find favourite recipes, read foreign newspapers and laugh at puppies on YouTube. This generous donation has enabled another way for the residents of a care facility to connect with their community and the world at large. Thank you very much.”
