Calgary Chin Christian Church is Gifted with 2 Projectors

By electronic recycling association October 7, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association works with local companies to repurpose used electronics and IT equipment in a safe and secure manner. Our team works with community charities to donate these refurbished computers and electronics to those in need. The Calgary Chin Christian Church just moved into a new space and needed some IT equipment to better serve the community. The ERA was happy to provide them with 2 projectors and will be helping out with a couple of computers in the near future. Because they are a small church with a tight budget, they were thrilled to receive these donated items.

On June 6, 2010, a few volunteers started teaching Bible verses and songs to about ten children in Kap Sen’s basement, which is one of the reasons that lead to beginning the Chin church. After half a year, with the blessing of God, the number of Sunday school children and their faith grew. As a result, groups of Chin people founded the Calgary Chin Christian Church on January 9, 2011, and currently have approximately 75 active believers.

They have a vision to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and also prepared to become spiritual parents for the next generation. Their members come from Chin state, Myanmar. Chin is one of the ethics group in Myanmar with a population of approximately 1.5 million who are 95 % of Christianity. Their major doctrine is the Trinity doctrine. Their main priority is to make sure their children are influenced by the will of God and another focus is to participate in missionary activities all over the world as much as they can. Their strengths and biggest commitment to missionary work is support through prayer.

Our vision at the Electronic Recycling Association is to foster a better community by reducing electronic waste and enabling the non-profit sector to achieve excellence by providing for their IT needs through computer donation and computer recycling. We do this by refurbishing computers, laptops, monitors, projectors, printers, etc. that we receive. With fewer items coming into our warehouses, our waiting list times have increased.

If you have any electronics at home that are sitting unused, please consider dropping it off at an ERA Depot near you. The Electronic Recycling Association also offers free pickups across Canada. We operate in 7 major Canadian cities and are also able to serve remote communities. Book your pick up today and see your electronics help out charities and non-profits all across Canada.
