Community Impact: ERA and MPP Joseph Racinsky Donate Technology to Cancer Assistance Halton Hills

By electronic recycling association January 13, 2026

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Cancer Assistance Halton Hills in Georgetown, Ontario, through a recent technology donation made in collaboration with the Honourable Joseph Racinsky, MPP for Wellington–Halton Hills.

Through this initiative, ERA donated one laptop and one tablet, providing the organization with essential digital tools to strengthen its operations and enhance the services it delivers to individuals and families affected by cancer in the local community.

Strengthening Community Care Through Technology

Cancer Assistance Halton Hills plays a vital role in supporting individuals living with cancer by offering emotional support, practical assistance, wellness programming, and community-based resources. Reliable technology enables their team and volunteers to better manage client communications, coordinate programs, maintain records, and deliver services more efficiently — allowing them to focus on what matters most: patient care and community well-being.

This donation helps ensure the organization can continue to expand its reach and improve service delivery while operating with greater efficiency and security.

From Responsible Recycling to Community Impact

This donation was made possible through ERA’s national reuse-first electronic recycling program, which transforms surplus corporate technology into valuable community resources. All donated devices are professionally refurbished and undergo certified data wiping before being redeployed for reuse, extending the lifecycle of equipment while supporting both environmental sustainability and digital inclusion.

For corporate partners and IT leaders, this model delivers measurable impact by:

  • Reducing electronic waste sent to landfill
  • Protecting sensitive data through secure IT asset disposition
  • Advancing ESG and sustainability goals
  • Supporting community organizations across Canada

Building Stronger Communities Together

ERA is honored to work alongside community leaders like MPP Joseph Racinsky and organizations such as Cancer Assistance Halton Hills to ensure technology becomes a tool for empowerment, not a barrier.
