ERA Donates 25 Laptops to the Saskatchewan First Nations Water Association to Support Safe Drinking Water Initiatives
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the donation of 25 refurbished laptops to the Saskatchewan First Nations Water Association (SFNWA). This contribution will help strengthen the SFNWA’s capacity to support First Nations water professionals who ensure safe drinking water across Saskatchewan communities.
Supporting First Nations Water Professionals
The Saskatchewan First Nations Water Association is a grassroots, nonprofit charitable organization governed by a First Nations board of directors composed mainly of on-the-ground technicians working in First Nations water systems. Their dedicated team of five staff members develops programs and initiatives that empower First Nations water treatment operators, monitors, and delivery drivers to safeguard community health through sustainable water management.
Enhancing Access to Technology
Access to reliable technology is vital for modern water system operations and compliance reporting. Many First Nations operators, however, lack the necessary digital tools to complete regulatory reporting and system management tasks.
Having access to laptops will enable operators to fully participate in this training and strengthen digital capacity within their communities for years to come.
Reuse Before Recycle: ERA’s Commitment to Community Impact
At ERA, our mission is to reduce electronic waste through reuse, refurbishment, and donation. Every device donated helps us bridge the digital divide while keeping electronics out of landfills. Through partnerships with organizations like the SFNWA, we ensure that repurposed technology has a second life supporting meaningful community work.
