The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Moolah for Macros Electronics Recycling Fundraiser held in partnership with Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School in Calgary, Alberta.

Together, students, staff, families, and community members collected 2,693 lbs of unwanted electronics, helping reduce e-waste while supporting sustainability and community fundraising efforts.

Partnership Drives Community Impact

ERA partnered with Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School to provide local residents with a convenient way to recycle unwanted electronics. As a result, community members were able to keep electronics out of landfills while supporting environmental initiatives within their school community.

Moreover, the fundraiser encouraged participants to learn more about responsible recycling and the importance of extending the life of technology whenever possible.

2,693 lbs of Electronics Collected

Throughout the fundraiser, community members dropped off a variety of electronics, including:

  • Laptops and computers
  • Cell phones and smartphones
  • Tablets
  • Monitors and printers
  • Cables and accessories
  • Other unwanted electronics

In total, the community collected 2,693 lbs of electronics, creating a positive environmental impact and supporting responsible recycling efforts.

Supporting Technology Reuse

ERA follows a reuse-first approach whenever possible. First, our technical team evaluates collected devices for reuse. Then, the team securely data sanitizes, refurbishes, and prepares eligible equipment for donation.

These donations help support charities, schools, non-profits, newcomer organizations, and community programs across Canada.

Building a More Sustainable Future

Electronics recycling events play an important role in reducing landfill waste and promoting environmental responsibility. In addition, these events help raise awareness about proper electronics disposal and technology reuse.

ERA would like to thank Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School, its students, staff, families, and the Calgary community for making this fundraiser a success.
