In a significant stride towards sustainable practices and community support, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has joined forces with the Better Business Bureau of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario to make a meaningful impact. This collaboration has resulted in the donation of four laptops to Active Ageing in Manitoba (AAIM). This commendable initiative is a direct outcome of the electronic collection event hosted by ERA & BBB in September, during which items were gathered from the Winnipeg business community, data wiped, and refurbished. Today, we celebrate not only responsible e-waste disposal but also the positive ripple effects that result from such endeavors.
The Collection Event:
Back in September, ERA & BBB organized a collection event aimed at encouraging the Winnipeg business community to responsibly dispose of their electronic items. The response was overwhelming, with businesses coming forward to contribute their outdated or unused electronic devices. This event marked a pivotal moment in fostering a culture of responsible e-waste management within the community.
Partnership with BBB:
The collaboration with the Better Business Bureau of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario played a crucial role in amplifying the impact of the collection event. The partnership allowed ERA to extend its reach and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. By leveraging the resources and networks of both organizations, the donation of laptops to Active Ageing and other local Winnipeg charities.
Empowering Active Ageing in Manitoba:
Active Ageing in Manitoba, a recipient of ERA’s generous donation, is an organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the lives of seniors in Manitoba. The laptops provided by ERA will undoubtedly contribute to the organization’s mission, opening doors to technology and connectivity for the elderly. In an increasingly digital world, this gesture not only provides access to essential tools but also fosters a sense of inclusion for seniors who may be less familiar with modern technology.
