The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support the Health Equity Alliance of Nova Scotia in Halifax through a recent technology donation made in collaboration with the Honourable Lisa Lachance, MLA for Halifax Citadel–Sable Island.
Through this initiative, ERA donated two laptops, four tablets, and four cell phones, helping strengthen the organization’s capacity to deliver essential programs and services that promote health equity and social inclusion across the region.

Strengthening Community Health Through Technology
The Health Equity Alliance of Nova Scotia works to reduce health disparities and support individuals and communities who experience barriers to accessing care, services, and resources. From outreach and advocacy to direct support programs, reliable technology plays a critical role in enabling staff to communicate with clients, manage case information, deliver virtual services, and coordinate programs efficiently.
This donation equips the Alliance with the tools needed to expand its reach, improve service delivery, and enhance digital access for the communities it serves — creating meaningful, long-term benefits for individuals and families throughout Halifax.
From Electronic Waste to Community Impact
Through ERA’s national reuse-first electronic recycling program, donated devices are professionally refurbished, securely data-wiped, and prepared for safe reuse before being responsibly recycled at end of life. This approach ensures data security, reduces electronic waste, and extends the lifecycle of valuable technology — delivering both environmental and social impact.
By transforming surplus electronics into community resources, ERA continues to bridge the digital divide while helping Canadian organizations meet their sustainability, data protection, and social responsibility goals.
A Collaborative Effort for Local Impact
The Electronic Recycling Association extends sincere thanks to MLA Lisa Lachance for her support and leadership in making this donation possible. Partnerships between community organizations, government leaders, and responsible recycling programs like ERA create powerful opportunities to strengthen local services and improve quality of life.
ERA is honoured to work alongside partners across Nova Scotia and Canada to ensure that technology continues to serve people — not landfills.
