Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and Genetec Donate Laptops to Chez Doris in Montreal

By electronic recycling association October 31, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue its mission of reducing e-waste and bridging the digital divide through meaningful community initiatives. In partnership with Genetec, a global leader in unified security solutions, ERA recently donated 16 refurbished laptops to Chez Doris, a charitable organization based in Montreal, Quebec.

Empowering Communities Through Reuse

Chez Doris provides essential services to women in vulnerable situations, offering a safe and welcoming environment, meals, clothing, and social support. Access to reliable technology plays a vital role in helping women connect with educational resources, employment opportunities, and community support programs.

Through this donation, ERA and Genetec are helping Chez Doris enhance its digital capabilities—empowering both staff and clients to stay connected and thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Extending the Life of Technology

By giving electronics a second life through refurbishment and reuse, ERA helps reduce the amount of e-waste that ends up in landfills. Corporate partners like Genetec make this impact possible by donating decommissioned yet functional devices. Every donated item is securely data-wiped, refurbished, and redistributed to eligible charities and nonprofits across Canada.

Thank You, Genetec

The ERA team extends our heartfelt thanks to Genetec for their generous contribution and ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility. Their support helps create opportunities for individuals and communities who need it most—proving that together, we can make technology accessible for everyone.
