Montréal, QC — The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to continue its mission of reducing e-waste and bridging the digital divide through meaningful community impact. With support from Genetec, a global leader in unified security solutions, ERA recently donated five refurbished laptops to UN POUR UN in Montréal.
These computers will help immigrant women build essential digital skills, gain confidence, and better integrate into Québec’s job market through UN POUR UN’s basic computer skills classes.
“Access to reliable technology is a game-changer,” said an ERA spokesperson. “With Genetec’s support, we’re helping UN POUR UN open doors for newcomer women so they can learn, work, and thrive.”
Extending the Life of Technology
ERA is committed to reuse before recycle. Every donated device undergoes secure data wiping, refurbishment, and testing before being distributed to eligible charities and nonprofits across Canada. By giving electronics a second life, we:
- Reduce e-waste heading to landfills
- Support digital inclusion for newcomers, students, and community members
- Maximize the social value of corporate technology refreshes
Corporate partners like Genetec play a vital role by donating decommissioned yet functional devices. Together, we’re helping communities thrive while protecting the environment.
Thank You, Genetec
The ERA team extends heartfelt thanks to Genetec for their generosity and continued commitment to corporate social responsibility. Their contributions create opportunities for organizations and individuals who need it most—proving that when businesses and nonprofits work together, technology becomes a tool for empowerment and inclusion.
