Electronic Recycling Association Provides Laptops to Help Newcomers Build Brighter Futures

By electronic recycling association November 5, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support the Centre for Newcomers (CFN) in Calgary with a recent donation of laptops to help newcomers in Canada build brighter futures.

The Centre for Newcomers provides vital programs that help immigrants, refugees, and other newcomers successfully integrate into Canadian society through employment support, language training, and community engagement.

By donating refurbished laptops, ERA is helping CFN participants access the technology they need for job searching, online learning, and communication – opening doors to digital literacy and long-term success.

The Impact

This donation gives newcomers the tools to develop new skills, find jobs, pursue education, and stay connected. Through initiatives like this, ERA and CFN empower individuals to confidently start a new chapter in Canada.

Building Connections Through Collaboration

ERA works closely with organizations like CFN to bridge the gap between technology surplus and community need. Donated electronics are securely wiped, refurbished, and redistributed to support meaningful programs across Canada.

Turning E-Waste Into Opportunity

By giving used electronics a second life, ERA helps reduce e-waste, conserve resources, and promote digital inclusion – creating lasting social and environmental benefits for communities nationwide.

How You Can Help

If your organization has unwanted or gently used electronics, consider donating them to ERA. Together, we can support more programs like the Centre for Newcomers while building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
