Electronic Recycling Brings New Learning Opportunities to Winnipeg Students

By electronic recycling association October 23, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support Freedom International School in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with the donation of five refurbished projectors to enhance classroom learning and digital engagement.

Freedom International School provides inclusive education for students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many classrooms previously lacked essential equipment—some had no projectors at all, while others relied on outdated or faulty units that disrupted lessons.

With the support of the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), teachers now have access to reliable technology that allows them to display interactive lessons, visual presentations, and educational videos—helping students stay engaged and motivated to learn. This donation not only enhances the quality of instruction but also supports the school’s mission to create an environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.

Reducing E-Waste While Supporting Education

ERA’s mission is to reduce electronic waste, promote reuse, and provide technology to those in need across Canada. By refurbishing and repurposing used computers, laptops, and other devices, the ERA helps bridge the digital divide while preventing valuable electronics from ending up in landfills.

This initiative demonstrates how electronic recycling in Winnipeg can make a lasting social and environmental impact—transforming unwanted equipment into new learning opportunities for students.

Partnering With ERA to Make a Difference

ERA’s work is fueled by organizations and individuals who choose to donate their used electronics instead of discarding them. These contributions not only support environmental sustainability but also help ERA meet the growing technology needs of over 400 charities currently on its waitlist.

If your company or household has surplus electronics, you can join ERA in building stronger communities while protecting the environment. Learn how to donate today by clicking here.
