The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the donation of three refurbished desktop computers to the Sault Ste. Marie Museum and 49th Field Regiment RCA Historical Society, an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing local military history.
Supporting Technology Needs for Heritage Preservation
As part of their ongoing efforts, the Sault Ste. Marie Museum has been upgrading its IT systems and recently installed a new server. However, many of their existing computers have reached the end of their life cycle and are unable to migrate to Windows 11, leaving them vulnerable to security and management limitations.
With the support of ERA’s donation, the Historical Society now has access to reliable, updated technology that will allow them to continue preserving historical records, managing archives, and providing visitors and researchers with digital access to valuable information.
Extending the Life of Technology
This donation not only helps the Historical Society improve its operations but also highlights ERA’s mission to reduce electronic waste and extend the lifecycle of technology. By refurbishing and redistributing devices, ERA provides charities, nonprofits, and community organizations across Canada with the tools they need to succeed.
ERA’s Commitment to Community Impact
At ERA, we believe technology should empower communities, not end up in landfills. By supporting organizations like the Sault Ste. Marie and 49th Field Regiment RCA Historical Society, we continue to bridge the gap between environmental responsibility and community development.
