Electronic Recycling Helps Build Capacity at Unity Kitchener Through ERA Donation

By electronic recycling association December 2, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to announce the donation of a refurbished laptop to Unity Kitchener, a community organization offering educational and support services focused on personal development, resilience, and well-being.

This donation will help strengthen Unity Kitchener’s administrative and program delivery capacity, supporting essential functions such as communications, volunteer coordination, records management, and virtual engagement.

The device will provide the organization with a reliable technological resource for day-to-day operations and digital initiatives, enabling more effective community outreach, improved information access, and enhanced participant engagement.

ERA is committed to supporting organizations that demonstrate leadership in community service and inclusivity. By providing access to high-quality technology, ERA enables non-profit organizations to allocate more resources to their mission-critical work, rather than infrastructure challenges.

Supporting Sustainability Through Reuse

This donation supports ERA’s commitment to sustainable resource management and responsible technology reuse. By refurbishing functional equipment and extending its lifecycle, ERA helps reduce electronic waste while ensuring technology continues to benefit Canadian communities.

ERA continues to receive requests from non-profit organizations across the country seeking devices to support education, employment, digital inclusion, and essential community services. With more than 500 organizations currently on our waitlist, the demand for technology remains high.

A gently used laptop or tablet may seem small, but for someone without access, it can be a critical tool for learning, communication, and opportunity.
