Electronic Recycling Helps Power Nonprofit Growth

By electronic recycling association September 25, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce a recent donation of three desktop computers to the Synaptic Spinal Cord Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation Centre in Calgary, AB.

Synaptic Spinal Cord Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation Centre is a small, community-funded charitable clinic dedicated to providing life-changing neurorehabilitation services. Like many grassroots organizations, their ability to grow and sustain their impact depends heavily on having access to reliable technology.

The donated desktop computers will be used by the Fund Development and Marketing/Communications staff at Synaptic. With upgraded devices, the team will be better equipped to manage donor stewardship, grant writing, outreach initiatives, and communications efforts—key functions that directly support the clinic’s long-term sustainability and growth.

Behind every successful nonprofit program is a team working tirelessly to secure resources, raise awareness, and connect with the community. For Synaptic, these roles are especially critical, as they enable the organization to expand access to rehabilitation services for individuals living with spinal cord injuries and neurological conditions. Having dependable computers ensures their staff can focus on impact-driven work rather than being limited by outdated technology.

At ERA, our mission goes beyond recycling electronics—we work to extend the lifecycle of technology and create opportunities for charities, schools, and community organizations across Canada. By providing refurbished devices to organizations like Synaptic, we help reduce e-waste while empowering groups that are making a difference in people’s lives.
