Secure, Sustainable, and Community-Focused
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to offer secure, sustainable, and community-focused electronic recycling solutions for Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, and the greater Nova Scotia region.
Every year, thousands of usable electronics end up in local landfills, contributing to pollution and wasting valuable resources. ERA provides a better solution by collecting unwanted devices, securely wiping all data, refurbishing them, and donating them to charities and nonprofits in need.
Data security is our top priority. All donated devices undergo certified data wiping using industry-leading Blancco software to ensure personal and business information is completely erased. For devices that cannot be wiped, ERA uses industrial shredders to destroy hard drives, guaranteeing total data destruction and peace of mind.
After data is securely removed, ERA’s technicians refurbish, repair, and test devices to extend their lifespan. This reduces electronic waste, conserves natural resources, and helps prevent harmful materials from polluting the environment.
Refurbished electronics are then donated to local charities, schools, and community organizations across Nova Scotia. These donations support education, employment training, social services, and programs that help vulnerable individuals and families stay connected. Recent initiatives in the Atlantic region include providing laptops and tablets to organizations supporting newcomers, students, and those experiencing housing insecurity.
ERA offers free pickups for electronics from businesses and organizations in Halifax and surrounding communities. Smaller quantities can be dropped off at our
Halifax depot located at:

Choosing ERA means more than responsible disposal—it’s a commitment to protecting the environment and strengthening local communities. By donating unused electronics, individuals and organizations help reduce e-waste while empowering charities with essential technology.
