Every year, thousands of usable electronics end up in Québec landfills. ERA offers a better solution by collecting unwanted devices, securely wiping all data, refurbishing them, and donating them to charities and nonprofits in need.
Data security is a top priority. All donated devices undergo certified data wiping using Blancco software, ensuring personal and business information is completely erased. For devices that cannot be wiped, ERA uses industrial shredders to destroy hard drives, guaranteeing complete data destruction and peace of mind.
Once data is securely removed, ERA’s technicians refurbish, repair, and test devices to extend their lifespan. This process reduces electronic waste, conserves resources, and prevents harmful materials from polluting the environment.
Refurbished electronics are donated to local charities and community organizations across Montréal and Québec. These donations support education, job training, social services, and programs that help vulnerable populations connect to vital resources. Recent initiatives in Montréal include donating laptops to organizations supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and local community groups working to bridge the digital divide.
ERA’s Montréal depot is conveniently located at 130 Boulevard Saint-Joseph in Lachine, QC H8S 2L3. Residents and businesses can drop off unwanted electronics or schedule a free pickup for larger quantities.
