By electronic recycling association December 6, 2025

As part of its 12 Days of Christmas Tech Donations initiative, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was proud to donate five refurbished laptops to Families Canada in Ottawa, Ontario—helping strengthen digital access for families and organizations working to support them across the country.

Families Canada is a national organization that works with community-based family resource programs, family centres, and partners to strengthen families and promote healthy communities. Access to reliable technology is essential for day-to-day operations, communication, research, and program delivery—especially in a sector dedicated to advocacy, education, and family well-being.

Through this donation, ERA helped ensure that usable technology is kept out of landfills and put back into the community where it can make a meaningful difference. Each laptop was securely data-wiped to industry standards and refurbished to extend its life, reinforcing ERA’s commitment to environmental sustainability, data security, and social impact.

The 12 Days of Christmas Tech Donations campaign highlights how corporate and community donors can support both the environment and local charities by choosing responsible electronics reuse. Every donated device helps reduce electronic waste while empowering nonprofits, schools, and community organizations with the tools they need to succeed.

ERA is grateful for the opportunity to support Families Canada and their important work supporting families nationwide. Donations like these demonstrate how technology reuse can create positive outcomes for people and the planet alike.
