As part of the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA)’s annual 12 Days of Christmas Tech Donations, ERA was proud to donate five refurbished laptops to Legal Aid BC, a non-profit organization based in Vancouver.
This holiday initiative is part of ERA’s ongoing commitment to reducing electronic waste while increasing digital accessibility for organizations serving vulnerable communities across Canada.
Supporting Access to Justice Through Technology
Legal Aid BC provides legal assistance to individuals who would otherwise face barriers accessing justice. Their clients are primarily refugees, immigrants, and individuals experiencing homelessness—people who often lack access to essential technology.
For many clients, having a laptop is not a luxury but a necessity. These donated devices will help recipients:
- Connect with lawyers and legal aid navigators
- Communicate with family and support networks
- Attend virtual appointments and court-related meetings
- Access important documents and online resources
- Build digital skills needed for everyday life
By providing laptops, ERA helps remove one more barrier standing between clients and the legal support they need.
