The Electronics Recycling Fundraiser in Vancouver hosted by York House School, in partnership with the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), successfully brought together students, staff, and families to responsibly recycle unwanted electronics while supporting a meaningful humanitarian cause.

Held from February 23 to March 12, 2026, the Congo Tech Electronics Recycling Fundraiser supported ERA’s Moolah for Macros program, with proceeds designated for the Panzi Foundation. The initiative combined environmental responsibility with global social impact.

Strong Community Participation and Environmental Impact

This electronics recycling fundraiser in Vancouver encouraged the York House School community to donate unused electronics. Participants contributed laptops, tablets, smartphones, projectors, and other small devices.

Thanks to strong community engagement, the fundraiser successfully collected:

Total electronics collected: 1,348 lbs

This impressive result highlights the school community’s commitment to sustainability and responsible electronics recycling in Vancouver.

All collected items were processed through ERA’s certified reuse, refurbishment, and responsible recycling streams, ensuring environmental protection and secure data destruction.

How the Moolah for Macros Program Supports Communities

ERA’s electronics recycling fundraiser program allows schools and organizations to raise funds while reducing electronic waste.

Through this program:
• Organizations host an electronics recycling drive
• ERA provides logistics support and collection coordination
• Collected electronics are evaluated following program guidelines
• Eligible items contribute to fundraising outcomes

This model helps communities turn unwanted electronics into meaningful environmental and social impact.

Student Leadership and Community Collaboration

The York House School Congo Tech initiative was led by student organizers who promoted the electronics recycling fundraiser across both junior and senior school communities. Their leadership ensured strong participation and smooth coordination throughout the collection period.

ERA extends sincere thanks to York House School, student leaders, and staff for their commitment to sustainability and humanitarian support.

Reuse Before Recycling

ERA follows a reuse-first approach for every electronics recycling fundraiser. Functional devices are refurbished and donated whenever possible, while non-reusable equipment is responsibly recycled according to environmental standards. This helps reduce e-waste and extend the lifecycle of technology.

Host Your Own Electronics Recycling Fundraiser

ERA partners with schools, charities, and community organizations across Vancouver and Canada to host electronics recycling fundraisers through the Moolah for Macros program. ERA provides logistics coordination, marketing support, and reporting to ensure successful events.
