On March 28, 2026, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) proudly teamed up with the New Westminster Police Department to host a successful electronic recycling and data destruction event in New Westminster, British Columbia.
This community-focused initiative aimed to provide residents and businesses with a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible way to dispose of unwanted electronics while helping bridge the digital divide.

Strong Community Participation and Environmental Impact
Thanks to the strong support from the local community, the event successfully diverted 2,007 pounds of electronic waste from landfills. By prioritizing reuse and responsible recycling, ERA continues to reduce environmental harm while supporting charitable organizations across Canada.

Reusable electronics collected during the event will be refurbished and donated to local charities, schools, and nonprofits—helping provide access to technology for those who need it most.
Building Strong Community Partnerships
ERA’s collaboration with the New Westminster Police Department highlights the importance of partnerships in driving meaningful environmental and social impact. By working together, organizations can educate the public, prevent data theft, and create accessible pathways for responsible electronic disposal.
