ERA and Partners United for Fraud Prevention Event in Calgary

In a bid to combat fraud and empower the local community, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and esteemed partners from the Alberta Fraud Prevention Committee joined forces at Market Mall in Calgary, Alberta, on March 8, 2024. The occasion? A Fraud Prevention Event designed to equip Calgarians with the knowledge and resources to tackle fraud head-on.

The event provided an opportunity for partners to extend invitations to residents from all corners of Calgary, encouraging them to interact with a diverse range of representatives and gain invaluable insights into identifying, preventing, and reporting fraudulent activities.

Amidst the bustling atmosphere of Market Mall, attendees had the opportunity to interact with a diverse array of organizations committed to the cause. From the Alberta Blue Cross and the Alberta Securities Commission to the Better Business Bureau Serving Southern Alberta and East Kootenay, an impressive lineup of partners stood ready to share expertise and support, including the Calgary Police Service, the Canada Revenue Agency, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA), and Service Alberta – Calgary Consumer Investigations Unit.

Their collaboration emphasized the gravity of the issue and the collective determination to safeguard the community against fraudulent schemes. Moreover, the participation of these organizations underscored the multifaceted nature of fraud prevention, touching upon various sectors and domains.

As people walked around the event, they found helpful talks, interactive exhibits, and personal chats with experts. Everything was aimed at giving them useful tips and tools to fight fraud in their everyday routines.
