ERA Donates 17 Devices to Organizations in BC, ON, and QC

The Electronic Recycling Association was happy to help 3 different organizations across Canada with a total of 17 devices! The lucky recipients are Vancouver Island Local History Society, Intervarsity Circle Square Ranch Grand River, and Singa Quebec.

The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.

The Vancouver Island Local History Society (VILHS) is a non-profit society dedicated to the promotion and support of local history initiatives. They operate a national historic site in Victoria: Point Ellice House Museum and Gardens. Their 10-year-old laptop recently stopped working and they required a new device for use at the front desk reception – primarily to input visitor information and track sales. It will also be used for logging entries into their artifact collection database.

Intervarsity Circle Square Ranch Grand River is a summer camp that focuses on keeping their fees affordable for the greatest number of campers possible. They also have scholarships and work with local agencies to provide camp for people who wouldn’t be able to come to camp otherwise. They are part of a larger organization which has other camps across Canada and campus outreach programs.

“We are thankful for your organization and for a chance for us to be able to save money on laptops and put that money to our scholarship funds and other programs,” said camp director Josh Woodward. Two of their laptops crashed so they reached out to ERA for help. One is used daily by their registrar to process applications and respond to requests by their team and clients and the other one is used by their director who runs the whole camp.

Singa Quebec is part of an international citizen movement with the objective of creating bridges of exchange and meeting between new arrivals, including refugees, and the host society. ERA donated 10 laptops, 1 PC, 1 printer, and 1 projector to assist this organization with different projects and activities.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals.
