The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce the donation of 6 tablets, 3 laptops and a monitor to the One Step Learning Opportunities Centre (OSL) in Edmonton, AB. This donation will be used to kick start OSL’s new IT Lab which will provide children attending the daycare with basic computer skills.
One Step Learning Opportunities Centre (OSL) is grassroots, Edmonton-based registered charity that is “Making Early Childhood Learning Affordable” for impoverished toddlers in rural Ghana. Leveraging its play-based daycare, a building and courtyard space donated by OSL Alberta founders, any Canadian generosity received, creates, and impacts positive life changing experiences to guide these 1 – 4 years old children to become life-long learners.
Currently, the OSL is still in need of 31 laptops but refurbished laptops are one of ERA’s most requested items for donations. During the COVID-19 Pandemic the demand for electronics has increased by at least 40% since March 2020. With higher demands and a lower surplus of laptop’s during this time we are having trouble fulfilling requests from organizations such as the One Step Learning Opportunities Centre. Get involved by dropping off your unwanted or unused electronics to the ERA so we can help more organizations like the One Step Learning Opportunities Centre.
