The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated two refurbished laptops to the Canadian Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) – Family Resource Network.
Through this donation, ERA aims to improve access to technology for immigrant women and families. The laptops will support CIWA’s programs, staff, and community services.
Supporting Digital Inclusion for Women and Families
Today, people need reliable technology for education, employment, communication, and access to online services. However, many families still face barriers when they need a computer.
Therefore, ERA works with charities and nonprofit organizations to provide refurbished laptops and computers to people who need them. These devices can help users apply for jobs, attend online classes, access community resources, and stay connected.
CIWA provides important services to immigrant women and their families. For example, the organization offers family support, community resources, education, and settlement services. As a result, the donated laptops can help CIWA continue its valuable work.
Giving Refurbished Technology a Second Life
ERA collects unwanted computers and other electronics from businesses and individuals. First, our technical team securely processes the equipment. Next, the team tests and refurbishes suitable devices. Finally, ERA donates the prepared equipment to charities, schools, and community organizations.
This process supports both people and the environment. In addition, it keeps working electronics out of landfills and gives useful devices a second life.
The donation to CIWA shows how computer reuse can create a positive impact. Instead of becoming electronic waste, these laptops will support programs that help women and families build stronger futures.
ERA’s Computer Donation Program
ERA provides refurbished computers and laptops to nonprofit organizations across Canada. Through this program, we help reduce the digital divide while promoting responsible electronics reuse.
Charities, schools, and community organizations can apply for equipment through ERA’s donation program. Businesses can also support this work by donating unwanted electronics for secure recycling and reuse.
Together, we can reduce electronic waste and make technology more accessible to communities across Canada.
