The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) continues its mission of reducing electronic waste while supporting communities across Canada. Most recently, ERA donated two refurbished laptops to USACAM Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting immigrant, newcomer, and underserved youth and families.
Through responsible electronics reuse and certified data destruction, ERA ensures unwanted technology is securely processed, refurbished, and redirected to organizations that need it most.
Supporting Newcomers Through Technology Access
Access to reliable technology is essential in today’s digital economy. Without computers or internet-enabled devices, individuals face barriers to education, employment, financial services, and community participation.
USACAM Foundation delivers programs focused on:
- Youth mentorship
- Settlement and newcomer services
- Financial literacy training
- Wellness and resilience initiatives
The donation of these laptops strengthens USACAM’s ability to deliver digital programming, support virtual services, and expand access to critical resources.
This is digital inclusion in action.
Reducing E-Waste While Creating Community Impact
This donation reflects ERA’s core principle: Reuse comes before recycling.
Through certified data destruction, secure refurbishment, and environmentally responsible recycling practices, ERA diverts electronics from landfills and extends the lifecycle of valuable equipment.
By prioritizing reuse:
- E-waste is reduced
- Environmental impact is minimized
- Charities and nonprofits receive essential technology
- Digital equity across Canada is strengthened
Technology that might otherwise be discarded becomes a tool for opportunity.
Get Involved
Reducing electronic waste and increasing access to technology requires collective action. ERA offers several ways to make an impact.
Donate Technology

Donating electronics helps:
- Reduce landfill waste
- Support environmental sustainability
- Provide technology to underserved communities
- Advance digital inclusion in Canada
