The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently made a tech donation to the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation. This donation, comprising a laptop and monitor, is set to make a tangible impact on the Foundation’s operations, particularly in facilitating remote work for its staff. The timely intervention addresses the challenges faced by an employee who, until now, had been using outdated equipment, hampering their ability to carry out duties efficiently.
At the core of the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation’s mission is the recognition that the fallen heroes they honor were more than just soldiers; they were sons and daughters, husbands and fathers. Originating from every corner of the vast Canadian landscape, these individuals represented cities, towns, and hamlets, some of which have faded into obscurity with time. Their names, etched solemnly on cenotaphs across the country, serve as a poignant reminder of lives cut short and dreams left unfulfilled.
Since its establishment in 2003, the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation has been steadfast in its dedication to collaborating with both private and public organizations. The foundation’s overarching mission is to humanize the fallen, providing a glimpse into the lives of soldiers and preserving their memory through memorials. One notable initiative has been the creation of oak-framed and metal art prints that now grace over 500 communities nationwide. Additionally, an online database titled “In Memoriam” allows individuals to search for these heroes by name or the town they once proudly called home.
By providing modern and efficient equipment, ERA empowers the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation to enhance its operations, ensuring that the stories of these heroes are told and remembered with the respect they deserve.
The ERA is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment. As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, it is our “reuse” focus and donation activities that set us apart from others in this sector. We are an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 Certified Company that offers pickup services, comprehensive data security measures and subsequent reporting. Individuals and organizations alike move through technology hardware for a number of different reasons, and often there is ongoing productive use.
The ERA believes that “reuse” where ever possible is the most ecological approach to this growing stream, and an excellent way to compel real community goodwill at the same time. The Electronic Recycling Association has a clear mission of reducing electronic waste through computer recycling, laptop recycling and computer donation services. With depots throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and all of Canada. ERA provides a great way to recycle electronic equipment safely and securely.
