The Epilepsy Association of the Maritimes in Halifax has recently received a tech donation from the Electronic Recycling Association. This donation includes a laptop and a projector, which will play a vital role in enhancing their educational and support initiatives within the community. The laptop and projector will empower their education and support team to actively engage with community members through various avenues such as educational presentations, outreach programs, and health navigation services.

The Epilepsy Association of the Maritimes is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to spreading awareness about epilepsy. They provide essential education not only to schools but also to employers and families, aiming to increase understanding and knowledge about epilepsy. Furthermore, they facilitate support groups that connect individuals with firsthand experiences to share their personal journeys. Additionally, the association offers bursaries to assist students in pursuing their studies.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.

Get involved with the Electronic Recycling Association and help work towards a future without e-waste. Invite the ERA to your community cleanup, host an e-waste fundraiser, spend some time volunteering at the ERA, or initiate an e-waste collection at your business.

Consider dropping off your pre-loved electronics to ERA and we will work to donate them to those who need them most!
