ERA Marks Giving Tuesday by Donating 27 Laptops to the Canadian Mental Health Association

In honour of Giving Tuesday, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to donate 27 laptops to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in Calgary. This contribution supports CMHA’s ongoing efforts to provide essential mental health services and resources to individuals navigating challenging circumstances in their mental wellness journey.

For many CMHA clients, having access to a reliable device is not a convenience—it is a lifeline. These laptops will allow individuals to:

  • Attend virtual mental health appointments with counsellors, psychologists, and support workers.
  • Access online wellness programs, educational resources, and skill-building tools that support recovery and stability.
  • Connect with loved ones, family members, and peer support networks—an important component of emotional well-being and reducing feelings of isolation.
  • Manage essential tasks such as job searching, housing applications, communication with service providers, and daily organization.

Technology has become a vital part of today’s mental health ecosystem. Without it, many people fall behind, face increased stress, or are unable to fully participate in the supports available to them. ERA is honored to help bridge that gap for CMHA Calgary’s community.

At the ERA, every day is Giving Tuesday. Our mission is rooted in creating opportunities, reducing electronic waste, and empowering individuals and organizations through the reuse of donated technology. By repairing, refurbishing, and redistributing devices, we extend the life of electronics and provide tools that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

We look forward to continuing our work with local community organizations like CMHA and helping build stronger, more connected communities across Canada.

How You Can Help

If your organization has unwanted or gently used electronics, consider donating them to ERA. Together, we can support more programs like the Centre for Newcomers while building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
