The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), in partnership with Futed, is helping improve education and digital access for students in Chile through the donation of refurbished laptops to Escuela Básica GN 348 Huechún.

As part of ERA’s mission to promote reuse before recycling, ERA and Futed donated 5 laptops to the school to help build a small computer room for students. This new technology space will give students greater access to digital learning, computer skills, and educational resources that support both classroom success and future career opportunities.

For many students, access to computers is essential for learning, research, and developing the digital literacy skills needed in today’s world. By creating a dedicated computer room, Escuela Básica GN 348 Huechún can provide a stronger learning environment and help students gain valuable hands-on experience with technology.

This donation also supports environmental sustainability by extending the life of electronics through refurbishment and reuse. Instead of contributing to electronic waste, these devices are being repurposed to make a meaningful impact in education and community development.

Through trusted international partners like Futed, the Electronic Recycling Association continues to donate thousands of laptops and devices worldwide to schools, charities, and nonprofit organizations that need them most.

Projects like this demonstrate how refurbished technology can create both environmental and social change. ERA and Futed remain committed to supporting students, strengthening communities, and expanding access to technology through sustainable electronic reuse.

By turning old electronics into new opportunities, ERA continues to make a lasting difference locally and globally.
