The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has teamed up with the Better Business Bureau of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario to donate 10 desktop computers to the Broadway Neighbourhood Center, marking a significant step towards sustainability and community support. This collaboration stems from an electronic collection event hosted by ERA & BBB, where items were gathered from the Winnipeg business community, data wiped, and refurbished. This initiative not only promotes responsible e-waste disposal but also generates positive ripple effects within the community.
The donated computers will benefit the Centre’s Senior Programming, offering seniors the opportunity to receive basic training in Word, Excel, and Power Point. The Centre anticipates a high turnout of senior participants, with knowledgeable individuals from both the West Broadway area and neighbouring communities stepping forward to teach these programs.
