The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to support the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) through the donation of three refurbished laptops to its Family Resource Network (FRN) Program.
TThrough this donation, ERA directly strengthens CIWA’s ability to serve immigrant women and families. At the same time, the initiative improves access to essential digital tools, reduces electronic waste, and extends the life cycle of usable electronics through responsible reuse.
Supporting Immigrant Women and Families in Calgary
CCalgary Immigrant Women’s Association plays a vital role in helping newcomer women and their families successfully integrate into Canadian society. Through programs like the Family Resource Network, CIWA actively provides guidance, education, and support services that help families build stability and independence.
In today’s digital environment, reliable technology plays a critical role in service delivery. Therefore, the donated laptops enable CIWA staff and program participants to:
- Coordinate programs and manage administrative tasks more efficiently
- Communicate with clients and provide virtual support more effectively
- Access online resources, training, and essential information
- Strengthen overall operational efficiency for community programs
As a result, ERA helps remove barriers to digital access while further supporting CIWA’s mission to build stronger, more connected communities.
Giving Electronics a Second Life for Community Impact
At ERA, technology should never go to waste. Instead, when organizations reuse electronics responsibly, they create both environmental and social value. For this reason, ERA securely wipes, refurbishes, and redistributes donated electronics to organizations that need them most.
Moreover, this donation highlights ERA’s ongoing commitment to:
- Reducing electronic waste across Canada
- Supporting charities and nonprofit organizations
- Advancing the circular economy through reuse and recycling
- Expanding digital access for underserved communities
Consequently, each refurbished laptop delivers a dual benefit: it protects the environment while strengthening community services.
Thank You to Our Donors and Partners
This donation would not be possible without the continued support of ERA’s donors and partners. By choosing responsible electronics recycling, you help power programs like CIWA’s Family Resource Network and create lasting positive change across Canada.
