ERA & Shell Canada Donates 17 Laptops to PIA

By electronic recycling association January 23, 2023

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is excited to announce that with the help of our long-standing donor Shell Canada, we will be donating 17 refurbished laptops together to support Portail de l’Immigrant Association in Calgary!  The devices will be distributed to families that have recently immigrated to Canada.

Portail de l’Immigrant Association services help to increase personal, social and leadership skills. Every interaction of their staff is aimed at making life easier for newcomers to Canada.

In 2008, in Calgary, there was no Francophone organization dedicated to promoting cultural communities and thus facilitating the integration of immigrants from these communities. That year, this group of friends sat down to discuss what they could do to make a difference. This is how a conversation between friends gave birth to an organization that today improves the lives of youth, women and families in Calgary.
