ERA Supports Digital Learning Through Electronic Recycling in Edmonton

By electronic recycling association October 9, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) recently donated two laptops and two projectors to the Sierra Leone Association of Alberta (SLAA) in Edmonton, Alberta, to support their youth learning and senior computer literacy programs.

Supporting Youth Education and Growth

SLAA is preparing to continue its long-standing tradition of giving back to two key community groups—seniors and children of SLAA members. Through their summer programs, SLAA provides virtual remedial learning classes in math and English for students in grades 6–12. These online sessions help students strengthen academic skills, prepare for new curricula, and build confidence in subjects where they may struggle.

With ERA’s donation, students will now have access to reliable laptops that make it easier to participate in online classes, complete assignments, and explore digital learning tools. These programs not only improve academic performance but also keep youth engaged in positive, productive activities during the coming months.

Building Community Through Technology

ERA’s donation aligns with its mission to reduce electronic waste and promote digital inclusion by repurposing used technology for community benefit. Through donations like this, ERA helps nonprofits and community organizations across Canada gain access to the tools they need to learn, connect, and grow.
