ERA x Saint-Jean-sur-Richelie Police Fraud Prevention Event

By electronic recycling association March 28, 2023

In support of Fraud Prevention Month, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) and the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelie Police Service (SPSJSR) partnered together to help protect your private information through data destruction.

We held an electronics collection and data shredding event on March 25th, 2023 at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelie Police Service Headquarters in Quebec.  During our safe destruction event, citizens were invited to bring unwanted electronic devices such as hard drives, computers, laptops, phones, tapes and other small devices storing sensitive data, where they were securely destroyed for FREE. Hard drives were destroyed on-site to prevent data being recovered from old equipment and the items collected will be refurbished and donated to a variety of local organizations.

The ERA, SPSJSR, and Bye Bye Paperasse welcomed 250 people at the post for the shredding day. A total of 370 paper boxes and 150 electronic devices containing sensitive data were destroyed.
