ERA’s 8th Kids Poster Contest 2025

By electronic recycling association August 19, 2025

The ERA is proud to announce their 8th Kids Poster Contest that will launch September 2025. We are asking students including Elementary, Junior High, and High Schools across Canada to use their creative minds for a chance to win a FREE laptop. This competition is designed to not only educate students on the importance of sustainability and the 3 R’s (Reduce Reuse Recycle) but to bring their vision of an ever-changing environment to life through art.

How does it work?

To enter the contest, create a poster that best represents the ever-changing environment by combining the waste hierarchy known to many as “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”. Please relay the poster in some way to ERA’s mission statement and must include ERA’s logo in the art work.

How to enter?

Entries must be submitted by teachers online. Click HERE to upload entries.

ERA’s Mission Statement: To reduce electronic waste and the negative impact it has on our environment, and to reuse unwanted computers and related electronic equipment through recovery, refurbishment, and computer donation programs.

Who is eligible to participate?

School-aged students residing in Canada.

What will I win?

There will be 100 winners per 1000 entries and the winning students will receive a refurbished laptop.

How to win?

This competition is vote-based, meaning the student with the most votes will be selected as a winner — so be sure to create a submission that stands out and encourage your friends and family to vote for your entry. Prizes for top-voted entries will be shared between participating teachers and schools.

Please note: while voting plays a central role in determining the winners, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) reserves the final decision. To be eligible, all artwork must also reflect ERA’s mission of reducing electronic waste and supporting communities through technology reuse.

When does it take place?

This contest is running from September 1st, 2025 to December 15th, 2025. Each student can only submit one poster.

What format should the poster be?

  • Posters can be handmade (Use of paper, paint, pencils, markers, and/or crayons) or digitally created original work. Please remember to avoid copyright infringement. Ensure that your work is entirely your own, or if you include any external content, make sure you have the necessary permissions or are using content under a proper license.
  • Posters need to be in Jpeg form
  • Share your poster on social media through your school’s accounts and personal accounts using #ERA and #ERAKidsPosterContest on your posts.
