ERA’s Electronic Recycling Efforts Bring Technology to Low-Income Households

By electronic recycling association February 15, 2025

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) continues its mission of reducing e-waste and supporting communities by donating 5 desktop computers, 2 printers, 4 monitors, and 2 projectors to the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society in Edmonton, Alberta.

Helping Low-Income Families Bridge the Digital Divide

This donation will provide much-needed technology to low-income families in Edmonton, helping individuals access essential digital tools for education, job searching, and communication. Many families face barriers to affordable computers and laptops, making it difficult for children to complete school assignments and for job seekers to find employment opportunities.

By repurposing and redistributing electronic devices, ERA helps reduce electronic waste (e-waste) while ensuring that working computers, laptops, and peripherals reach those who need them most.

ERA’s Commitment to Electronic Waste Reduction and Community Support

For over 20 years, ERA been involved in electronic recycling and IT asset disposition (ITAD) in Canada, offering secure data destruction and refurbishing services. Through its technology donation program, ERA has supported schools, nonprofits, charities, and low-income families across Canada, ensuring they have access to digital resources.

Organizations and individuals can contribute to ERA’s mission by donating unwanted laptops, desktops, and other electronics. These items are securely wiped, refurbished, and donated to those in need, reducing landfill waste and promoting sustainability.
