ERA’s Technological Contribution to Lu’ma Native Housing Society

By electronic recycling association August 2, 2023

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) donated essential technology equipment to the Lu’ma Native Housing Society in Vancouver, BC. The donation included 3 desktop computers, 2 laptops, and 2 projectors, which will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable clients in the community.

Given the limited access to resources in North Vancouver, these computers will have a significant impact on the lives of the clients served by Lu’ma Native Housing Society. The technology will enable them to acquire essential life skills such as job searching, resume building, and accessing online training and educational opportunities. For many of these clients facing multiple barriers in the community, this donation represents a means to break free from constraints imposed by appearances and embark on a path of personal growth and rehabilitation.

Over the past four decades, Lu’ma Native Housing Society’s has played a crucial role in addressing housing affordability issues, developing, owning, and managing more than 1250 affordable housing units in Vancouver. Additionally, the organization has undertaken various programs, services, and initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing the overall well-being of the urban Indigenous community.
